Is it really necessary to put your picture on a resume for a marketing job, when asked? I believe the company to be reputable and they offer jobs at college campuses all over but I’m funny about my personal pictures/portraits. Not that I’m ugly, b/c I did used to model 2 years ago and get compliments all the time…but….I just don’t want to end up on some adult/porn site unbeknown to me…LOL, seriously though, I don’t!

I have a friend that ot a degree in Business Admin with an emphasis in Marketing. She lives in a very small town about an hour to hour and a half from any large city. She worked for me full time part of her way through college. She had excellent skills and was very ethical. She earned her way into management and as a management trainer and was successful at both while still attending college full time. She thought that the company was going to move her into its marketing department but the company had major money problems and couldn’t promote her and doesn’t look like it will be able to any time soon. She loves marketing and is desperate to get into this field. But can hardly even get a response to her resume’. She has tried getting on with major corporations and wouldn’t mind getting on with a minor one but she’s not able to just up and move without a job. I don’t think they are considering her because of her lack of experience in marketing and her proximity. Any suggestions for her?

A friend of mine proposed I start a blog and he be the web developer. What’s a reasonable split for profits?

I have no idea how much time it takes to write a blog versus creating, maintaining, and editing it (keeping up with and implementing the latest developments in internet technology and the blogosphere). My friend says he has 10 years of experience with web development and could provide all of the “internet marketing, e-commerce, blogging, search engine optimization, web application development, social networking, social media optimization, graphic design, interface design, copywriting, etc.” He proposed splitting the profits from ads, affiliate links, etc. 50/50 and letting me keep 100% of the profits I get from referrals for my private counseling business, but 50/50 feels too high. I’m unwilling to annoy potential or existing customers, so what marketing perspective is best for me?

My reason for needing to own my own business is the need for integrity. Most of the companies I’ve worked for have perpetual integrity issues, including their marketing methods and perspectives. I do Geek Squad-like tech support, and I have a recipe for success, other than a somewhat ‘beatnik’ attitude towards marketing. My current marketing plan includes:

-Business networking meetings
-Being prepared to describe the benefits of using my services
-A concise Website with free training and well-considered SEO
-Pens, pads of paper and other useful items with my logo for existing and potential customers
-A Facebook page for my business
-Submitting to typical advertising venues like Google and Superpages

I’m planning on putting some money into advertising, but I’m concerned that my complete unwillingness to ‘bother’ customers could make for a very slow start.
Examples of what I consider bothersome (but seemingly necessary) practices include:
-Nagging customers (on the phone, specifically) to allow me to finish projects/do needed maintenance
-Forcing promotion of my business into casual conversation

Any tips, books, or Websites you’re aware of in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Most of the existing materials out there aren’t geared towards people like myself.

I have looked through hundreds of sites on mlm leads, i have bought some leads with no outcomes. Are there really any lead generating sites out there that work? If there are what are they?

Do people do their research on network marketing business before they speak?

It is very interesting to me when I am doing some research on different network marketing business, I found many website and respond pointing out that business such as Amway, Market America, Southern living…etc is a scam. Most of the respond is base on personal experience or story they have heard. However Better Business Bureau rate those business such as Amway (A+), Market America (B+), Southern living (A)? I understand that BBB is not a government agency, however I do give more credibility to BBB than someone I never met before. And business this well-known surely will be shut down by the government if they are scam, right?
I believe that people who take the time to respond or even make a website have to be good people, people who is trying to help someone from doing things they believe is bad.

What is network marketing and how do you do it?

i really don’t know what network marketing is but i heard about it and know that it can make you money so how do i do network marketing and what do i need for it and also are there any college classes or degrees i can get to teach me network marketing i also heard you need to sell a product what if you don’t have a product and some examples of network marketing business‘s and an example of the average salary of a new mid and experienced network marketer

We all know (hopefully at least agree) that MLM, Network Marketing, Referral Marketing, Word-of-Mouth Business, Affiliate Marketing is one of the most misunderstood industry in US. Since there are so many positive and negative comments in Yahoo Answer, I personally think we need to address these topics in certain Yahoo Group.

I am planning to open one Yahoo Group to address MLM related topic. I do not know what you guys think.

The people who are involve in the industry know that our industry is not so reputed and respected. Most of the reason is Hype and Lies. However there are good companies and certainly good products.

My main goal is to introduce Network Marketing in a form that people understand the business and respect it. Most anti-mlmer hate this industry due to the misconception.

I need every bodies help (People who are favor of MLM), we all know we can share the greatness of MLM and let people know the true face of the business.

MLM / N-Marketing Forum? For Advice, Help & Tips? Any ideas?

I’m looking for a place where non financial advice can be given with the running of my MLM business. Where I can ask questions about how I’m running my business and things like that, and people will get back to me offering their advice and help – like a discussions forum. I’m in the UK but I guess it doesn’t matter to much as MLM is MLM, regardless of the country.

Who else wants to get rid of the MLM scammers?

There are entirely too many people who are using this forum to try to expand their downlines. It would be very easy for Yahoo to get rid of these people. This is a violation of the community guidelines. They ARE trying to sell something. They are an annoyance for those of us who really want to use this forum as it was intended to be used. I say we the users who’ve had enough finally try to get these people off of here once and for all. If enough of us sent e-mails about this to yahoo answers they may do something about this. Report every errant post you see immediately. Anyone with me on this?
